FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASERefurbishment HydraulicsHYDRAULIC MACHINERY REFURBISHMENT BY ALLISON HYDRAULICS LTDMonday 28th August 2000 Since 1975, the company has assisted machine tool companies and press builders in the restoration of a wide variety of equipment. AHL has replaced obsolete non-standard hydraulic power packs and components with those to the latest industry standards. In the press field, on occasion it has been water hydraulics that has been removed! Along the way AHL has expanded from being a small independent designer and manufacturer of hydraulic systems and power packs eventually taking in electrical and electronic control systems. As more of its products became established in the market place a service department had to be set up to deal with essential maintenance. The experience gained has proved invaluable and given an insight into the design of machinery and the faults it can develop.
The purchase of the old established press manufacturers – Rhodes Gill, in 1992 gave AHL another string to its bow. The increased drawing office capability and machine shop capacity enabled a whole new range of equipment to be developed. Also, in addition to carrying out maintenance purely on hydraulics, electrics and mechanical machinery parts, the company was now in a position to design and build complete machines for a variety of purposes. To save costs it could also offer extensive refurbishment services to almost new condition. It is this latter facility that has seen the growth as large manufacturers have sought to increase productivity by re-allocating the duties of existing machinery rather than investing in new. Among many others, AHL has over the past decade completely or partially overhauled machines for textile baling, the manufacture of gudgeon pins, meter casings, scaffolding plank reclamation, steel cable crimping for nuclear power stations, forging presses for the aerospace industry, heavy vehicle axle forging, special purpose injection moulding machines, a machine for making and extruding endless reels of flexible plastic hose, and many others.
